Extravagant Devotion

John 12:1-11

Call to Worship: Psalm 84:1-2, 4; 95:1-2, 6 (NIV)

     How lovely is your dwelling place,
              Lord Almighty!
     My soul yearns, even faints,
              for the courts of the Lord;
         my heart and my flesh cry out
              for the living God.

     Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
              they are ever praising you.

     Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
              let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
     Let us come before him with thanksgiving
              and extol him with music and song.

     Come, let us bow down in worship,
              let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 2:14-16a (NLT)

14 But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ’s triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume. 15 Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. 16a To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume.
