Doing Justice, the Gateway to JOY

Doing Justice, the Gateway to JOY

Isaiah 58:1-14

Call to Worship: Psalm 33:1-5 (NIV)

1      Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
              it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
2     Praise the Lord with the harp;
              make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3     Sing to him a new song;
              play skillfully, and shout for joy.

4     For the word of the Lord is right and true;
              he is faithful in all he does.
5     The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
              the earth is full of his unfailing love.

the sea, and everything in them—
he remains faithful forever.

and gives food to the hungry.

Men: The Lord sets prisoners free,
the Lord gives sight to the blind.

Women: The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
the Lord loves the righteous.

Men: The Lord watches over the foreigner
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

your God, O Zion, for all generations.
