From Darkness to Light

From Darkness to Light

John 9:1-41

Call to Worship: Isaiah 42:1, 6-8a; 10a (ESV)

1     Behold my servant, whom I uphold,
              my chosen, in whom my soul delights;
        I have put my Spirit upon him;
              he will bring forth justice to the nations.

     “I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness;
              I will take you by the hand and keep you;
        I will give you as a covenant for the people,
             a light for the nations,
         to open the eyes that are blind,
         to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon,
             from the prison those who sit in darkness.
     I am the Lord; that is my name.
              my glory I give to no other.

10
    Sing to the Lord a new song,
              his praise from the end of the earth.

Scripture Reading: Youth Skit – John 9:1-7

1As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him. We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man’s eyes with the mud and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing.
