Luke 2:8-20, Matthew 2: 1-12
Call to Worship: Isaiah 51:3,11 (ESV)
3 For the Lord comforts Zion;
he comforts all her waste places
and makes her wilderness like Eden,
her desert like the garden of the Lord;
joy and gladness will be found in her
thanksgiving and the voice of song.
11 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return
and come to Zion with singing;
everlasting joy shall be upon their heads;
they shall obtain gladness and joy,
and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 60:1-3, 5a, 6-7a (NIV)
1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
3 Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
5a “Then you will look and be radiant,
your heart will throb and swell with joy;
6 “Herds of camels will cover your land,
young camels of Midian and Ephah.
And all from Sheba will come,
bearing gold and incense
and proclaiming the praise of the Lord.
7a All Kedar’s flocks will be gathered to you,
the rams of Nebaioth will serve you.”
