Andrew White is an Anglican minister based in England. He has spent much of the past 20 years working on peace and reconciliation in the Middle East. He was Director of the International Centre for Reconciliation, Coventry Cathedral (1998-2005), during which time he convened Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious and political leaders in the Holy Land to issue the Alexandria Declaration (2002) committing to peace and an end to violence; and established the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East (2005). He was vicar of St George’s Church, Baghdad (2005-2014), and as a result is often called the Vicar of Baghdad. He now serves as Ambassador to Jerusalem Middle East Reconciliation International (Jerusalem MERIT), which works in Jerusalem and Jordan.
