“Don’t under estimate what God is doing in a season of waiting.”
What God is doing. That is what I am trying to focus on. God is always doing something, and even though we are unsure, afraid, overwhelmed, our God is doing something while we wait. And certainly, we are waiting on Him. While I’m waiting, and waiting, and waiting, I’m watching to see what God is doing. I’m praying my eyes focus on the good moments, the God moments. I’ve already found a few. A person in Pennsylvania retooled his company to make hand sanitizers and then, he gave them away for free. A restaurant owner in San Francisco decided to make free meals for people. His act of kindness was multiplied when backers gave him money. Now he’s making hundreds, thousands! Many are making masks for hospital workers, checking in on neighbors and friends, getting groceries for the elderly and leaving kind and encouraging messages on sidewalks and windows. My neighbor hosted a “sit on your front porch” happy hour where we waived and shouted from our porches. We can still be neighborly in this season of social isolation. What is God doing? God is rebuilding. He is creating a new community: one that loves and cares, and encourages and comes together, and relishes depending on each other. As you wait, look for what God is doing and then, tap into that!
But, they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
