“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Entering into “good works” is an important form of worship and an integral element of growing and expressing our Christian faith in everyday life.  We imitate God when we “do justice and show kindness” (Micah 6:8).  We follow the consistent exhortation of Scripture when we actively help those in need.

To help our neighbors in need and to encourage a lifestyle of loving service, PBCC set aside the morning of Sunday, April 29, 2018, for PBCC SERVICE SUNDAY to worship and glorify the Lord through our acts of loving, compassionate and helpful service in our local community.  Check out our Service Sunday Project Brochure!  Registration is open 3/18-4/23.

Jesus made it clear that we, as his followers, are to love as he loved.  “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39).  We demonstrate that we are Jesus’s disciples when we show compassion to the “distressed and downcast; harassed and helpless; weary and worn out” (Matthew 9:36).

Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
