VAM Workshop: Traditional Art of Washi Eggs

On February 20, Joyce Otsuka will introduce the art of decorating eggs.  She will show examples of this art form, including painted eggs, eggs used for potpourri, Ukrainian Easter eggs, and Taiwanese carved alabaster eggs.  Participants will be led step-by-step through the process of making Japanese Washi eggs, creating their own beautiful, decorated eggs to adorn their homes at Easter or anytime.  No experience is needed, and all materials will be provided.  We’d love for you to join us! HS Escape Room

We are super excited that this year we will be checking out the Escape Room in Sunnyvale called Omescape. The game rooms for the night are either Midnight in Hong Kong or Chaos in the Galleria. We will meet for dinner at Panera (1189 E Arques Ave) first and then walk over to Omescape. If you choose not to have dinner, be sure and arrive no later than 7:40pm. Children’s Ministry Family Ice Skating

Let’s go ice-skating! Families with kids 5th grade and under are invited to Cupertino’s Ice Center on Sunday, January 30 for ice-skating from 2:45-4:15pm! This will be a casual, unstructured event. Just show up and enjoy the rink for a couple hours! The group rate per person (for admission and skates) is $13. Parents are welcome to skate or watch your kids from outside the rink. Family Lessons and Carols

This year, we are excited to present a service of lessons and carols as a set of virtual visits to the homes of people in our body around the world. We will join these families to listen to the traditional readings – though not necessarily in the traditional translations – and to join with them to sing or listen to our most beloved Carols. Toy and Coat Drive

Please join us in filling the barrels again this year to benefit CityTeam families and the homeless!   For CityTeam we will be collecting new unwrapped toys, new or gently used children’s and men’s coats.   For the homeless we will be collecting new or gently used coats, socks, hats and sleeping bags.  Please join us in giving out of our blessings.
