Parents of 2nd – 5th grade students,
The 2nd annual Shape and Race event is coming to PBCC in March. We’re inviting all PBCC and Kids Club girls and boys in the 2nd-5th grades to participate. Click here for a summary from last year!
Some of you are familiar with these Shape and Race events sponsored by Awana or Cub Scouts (sometimes called Pinewood Derby). Cut, shape and paint a race car starting from a basic block of wood.
We’ll meet from 3:30-5:00pm on four consecutive Saturdays (March 4, 11, 18, 25) to build and race our cars on PBCC’s home-built track. There will be a nominal $10 registration fee (scholarships also available!).
Parents are invited to work with their kids to create their car. Volunteers will be on hand to help each step of the way if a parent or older sibling (high school or above) isn’t available. (The PBCC team will operate any power tools. Participants will use hand saws and sand paper with supervision and instruction.) Families are encouraged to come on Race Day to cheer on their favorite racers.
We hope that your kids can come! Click on the blue button above to register!
Blessings,
Dave Jensen, George Stoyko, and Christine
