Using a variety of versatile techniques, participants will create a collage built around a meaningful word or words. First, torn tissue paper will be used to make a luscious background on a stretched canvas. Upon this layer, will be arranged cutout paper letters to form the words or words, and decorative elements such as ribbons, gems, and artificial flowers. You may enjoy this project so much, you’ll make more than one!
The format of this workshop will follow that of the July workshop and will have three parts.
Part 1 will involve watching a Demonstration Video created by the workshop teacher, Merrianne Young, and posted on the YouTube Channel, Arts PBCC.
Part 2 will be hands-on as participants create their own collages at home following the instructions given in the video. Participants will provide their own materials for this workshop. Printed instructions and a supply list are available below for viewing and downloading. You will also find below links to the 2 alphabet templates mentioned in the video. The needed supplies are readily available and inexpensive – and you may have many of them in your home already.
Part 3 will be a Zoom meeting from 1:00 – 2:30 pm on Sunday, August 23 which will be a “Show & Tell” gathering for those who created a collage, are in the process of doing so, or still plan to make one. If you wish to participate in the Zoom gathering, you must register using either of the following 2 ways:
- Complete and submit this online registration form
- By phone; to do so type the word “workshop” to the PBCC text line 669-208-7111
