Ps. 67:3-4 "Let the peoples praise thee, O God; let ALL the peoples praise thee! Let the nations be glad and sing for joy!"
"Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t...When this age is over, and the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more. It is a temporary necessity. But worship abides forever...In missions we simply aim to bring the nations into white hot enjoyment of God’s glory."*
Information about PBCC missionaries can be found at the bulletin board at the rear of the Auditorium. There is a file holder for each missionary with their picture and folders containing a one-page bio and their latest newsletter. We encourage you to read these letters to keep informed about our missionaries and to pray for them. If any folder is empty and you'd like the most recent copy of a missionary's letter, please contact David Jones (or call 408.366.6690). PBCC missionaries are also listed in the PBCC Directory.
Short-term Missions
Benefits of Short-term Missions: The cross-cultural short-term experience develops world Christians as it allows the team members to see another culture as it really is--allowing God to experientially teach them more about himself and his heart for reaching the nations. Returning team members can help increase the church's outward focus. Properly trained, adequately supervised teams with an attitude of humility and servanthood can be a tremendous blessing and provide important relational benefits.
PBCC and short-term missions: The PBCC Missions council encourages short-term mission participation and desires to help those going have the best possible experience and maximum impact. We encourage all PBCC members interested in short-term missions to contact the Missions Council as early as possible in the process so that we can walk with you through the experience.
Perspectives on the World Christian Movementis a dynamic, internationally respected 15-week study program developed by the U.S. Center for World Mission. It provides a single, comprehensive source of information on the unfinished task of world evangelization. Each week a different speaker will challenge you to examine your perspective on God's mission.

Getting Involved
Serving as Senders: It is the conviction of PBCC that every Christian can be involved in God's mission to bring the redemptive blessing of God to every nation, tribe, people and language. Not everyone can go, or should go. Those who stay can become “senders.” The goal of missions at PBCC is for each missionary to have a Sending Team that is as committed to the missionary’s enterprise as the missionary. To learn more about being a sender, see Serving as Senders.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
Pray for Unreached Peoples:
"It is not so much, as someone has said, that God has a mission for his church in the world, as that God has a church for his mission in the world...Mission, from the point of view of our human endeavor, means the committed participation of God's people in the purposes of God for the redemption of the whole creation. Mission, like salvation, belongs to our God and to the Lamb. We are those who are called to share in its accomplishment."**
